A New Model for Educational Change

Sometimes, the biggest changes begin with the smallest seed.

Seeds of Knowledge is not just another educational initiative. It’s a movement, a mindset, and a model for transforming education through curiosity, creativity, and connection. Born from a simple classroom moment and inspired by the sight of a cardboard box becoming a spaceship in the hands of imaginative children, Seeds of Knowledge dares to ask: What if professional development was just as playful, purposeful, and powerful as childhood learning?

At its heart, Seeds of Knowledge believes this: when you plant the right ideas in the right environment, they grow into real change.

🌻 The Origin Story

Seeds of Knowledge was never meant to be a business. It began as a personal journey—a reflection on decades of teaching, leadership, and international education consultancy. Founder Mark Pollitt, a school principal and former military leader turned educator, saw the same patterns repeated across countries and curriculums: classrooms full of potential, stifled by outdated systems.

One day, while babysitting, he watched two young boys transform a cardboard box into a rocket ship. That moment became the metaphor—and the mission. What if we could help educators “unbox” their thinking and rediscover the joy and depth of teaching?

🌱 A New Model of Operation

Today, Seeds of Knowledge is going digital, going global, and staying grounded in its core values:

Accessible Professional Development: We’re launching mini-courses, workshops, and digital learning experiences that fit into the lives of real educators—no jargon, no fluff, just real tools for real classrooms.

  • Metaphor-Based Learning: Every program in Seeds of Knowledge uses metaphor and story to spark reflection and connection. Whether it’s The Box, The Bridge, or The Mirror, these workshops invite educators to think differently, feel deeply, and teach boldly.
  • Global Community, Local Roots: From Abu Dhabi to Armenia, Kenya to Hong Kong, we’re building a network of educators who learn together, grow together, and support one another across borders.
  • From Compliance to Curiosity: Instead of top-down models of improvement, we foster change through intrinsic motivation—helping teachers reconnect with why they teach, not just how they teach.

🌼 The Workshops: More Than Just Training

Each Seeds of Knowledge workshop is designed not as a lecture, but as an experience. The first workshop, The Box, invites teachers to explore the limits they’ve unknowingly placed around learning—and then smash through them. Upcoming workshops include:

  • The Bridge – Connecting disciplines, communities, and people.
  • The Mirror – Reflecting on identity, purpose, and personal growth.
  • The Seedling – Nurturing potential in learners and leaders.

Each session is rooted in joy, storytelling, and deep professional insight.

🌻 Why It Matters

In a time when teacher burnout is rising and student engagement is falling, Seeds of Knowledge is a gentle but powerful reminder:

"Great teaching doesn’t come from systems. It grows from the soul of a teacher who still believes learning can change lives."

This is a call to all educators, school leaders, and changemakers: plant the seed. Let’s grow something remarkable together.
